The book of Genesis
is the oldest book of the Holy Bible. It describes the creation of the universe, and all living creatures. It also gives account about the origin of man and describes the history of the first human beings as well as the nations which were formed by our earliest forefathers. The book was recorded by the prophet Moses in Hebrew language. It is the first book of the Bible - the book of origins of the human race and also reports about the fall of man from the original godly purpose. It prophetically predicts the plan of our creator God to redeem mankind from its fallen sinful state. This book has been translated in over 1000 languages world wide. It is a “must read” for people of all ethnic backgrounds.
In Mongolian, there have been several translations of Genesis. The oldest were translated in the time of Genghis Khan and Kublai Khan by Nestorians who then lived within the great Mongol Empire. These translations have been favourite readings of the Mongolian educated nobility for many generations, but have been finally lost. A few copies of the first modern times translation of 1846 still exist, one copy can be found at the State Library of Mongolia in Ulaan Bataar. However, this translation used the language of its time and is today only intelligible to scholars. This new version is presented in Mongolian calligraphy. It is well understood and has good reports from Mongolian readers.
